Set in the heart of the Vanoi Valley, at an altitude of 1,777 metres, the mountain farm lies beyond the village of Caoria and Rifugio Refavaie. Here, on the edge of the vast Lagorai mountain range, the landscape invites visitors to slow down and discover a wilder, lesser-known side of the mountains.

Managed by the Caseificio di Primiero dairy, Malga Fossernica di Dentro has preserved the warmth and atmosphere of a traditional alpine farm. During the summer season, while cows graze in the surrounding pastures, visitors can stop and enjoy mountain cuisine and flavours deeply connected to the local area.

The menu celebrates traditional dishes from Primiero alongside cheeses produced by Caseificio di Primiero, the stars of a simple and genuine cuisine closely linked to alpine life. Among the specialities to discover is Botìro di Primiero di Malga, a raw-cream alpine butter and a Slow Food Presidio, the expression of a dairy-making tradition deeply rooted in the history of the valley.

From here, the view opens onto an extraordinary landscape: the Lagorai range, with Monte Cauriol and Cima Colrotondo on one side, and the impressive silhouette of Cima d'Asta on the other. Malga Fossernica is also an ideal starting point for hikers, with trails leading towards Cima dei Paradisi, Forcella Valmaggiore and the Paolo e Nicola Bivouac.

For those wishing to delve even deeper into the world of alpine farming, Malga Fossernica di Fuori can be reached on the other side of the valley, where cows spend the summer grazing.
