La Vaca negra - Masch Aloch
There are places where the mountains are not simply a landscape to admire, but a place where people live, work and build something every day
There are places where the mountains are not simply a landscape to admire, but a place where people live, work and build something every day. Masc Aloch was born from this idea: caring for the land in order to bring its authentic flavours to the table.
In the heart of Val di Fassa, Masc Aloch is much more than a farm. It is a family project centred around care for the land, sustainable agriculture, short supply chains and a more conscious way of experiencing and sharing the mountains.
Here, livestock farming follows the rhythm of the seasons. The cattle, mainly Black Angus, are raised on the farm and spend the summer months on high-mountain pastures, surrounded by clean air, fresh water, sunshine and the Alpine grasses of the Dolomites. It is a way of farming rooted in tradition while paying close attention to quality and animal welfare.
This philosophy gave rise to La Vaca Negra, the brand dedicated to high-quality premium meats, produced in limited quantities. Fresh meat, cured meats and other products, all gluten-free and lactose-free, bring the result of a short and deeply local supply chain to the table.
The story continues at the farm shop, where visitors can purchase fresh meat and other Masc Aloch products, as well as stop for a tasty break in the small Stube. A simple and welcoming place where guests can taste the farm’s products and discover the work behind them.
For those who want to go a little deeper, the farm can also be visited, offering an opportunity to meet the animals, discover the farm and learn more about the philosophy behind every choice, from pasture management to meat production.
A short distance from the farm, the Masc Aloch story climbs higher into the mountains at Malga Aloch. Here, the landscape becomes part of the dining experience, with dishes and specialities inspired by the farm’s own products and the culinary traditions of the local area. Another way to experience the mountains, this time through their flavours and convivial spirit.
Ultimately, Masc Aloch is a story of land, animals and people. A short supply chain that begins in the pastures of Val di Fassa, continues through the daily work of the family and reaches the table without ever losing its connection to the territory.
Because here, quality comes not only from what is produced, but from the way people choose to live in and care for the mountains.
