Fango
FANGO - by Giovanna Plaga
Hi, I’m Giovanna, founder of Fango, a small artisanal studio that brings artistic ceramic creations to life. My enthusiasm and curiosity fuel an ongoing exploration within my workshop, located in Salter — a small village with a breathtaking panoramic view over the Val di Non. I have always loved creativity: as a young woman I graduated from the Art Institute in Trento and later from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. FANGO was born in 2020 מתוך a desire to experiment with new techniques and materials within the vast world of ceramics.
Each piece I create is entirely handmade, shaped one by one without the use of molds — making every item unique and different. I love the tangible magic of transforming a simple block of clay into a vase, a bowl, or a piece of jewelry, and the deep sense of inner fulfillment I feel when a creation is complete.
Every piece is crafted with passion and carries a part of me. Each creation has its own story — from the initial idea, to the choice of materials, to the challenges faced during the process, and the joy I feel when I take it out of the kiln. There is no better moment than opening the kiln after a day of waiting, knowing I might find broken pieces or unexpected shades — but that risk is all part of the process.
“This is my world, and I hope you like it.”
Giovanna
